Italian Meringue Buttercream Frosting I Recipe in English Language

Today I have a very delicious buttercream frosting for you. This frosting is so creamy and delicious, ideal for filling and decorating your cakes, but also suitable for cupcakes

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

150g sugar
50ml of water
3 egg whites (M)
250g butter (very soft)
3 tablespoons liqueur (for example apricot liqueur, eggnog, Baileys … but also non-alcoholic syrups)

Preparation:

Boil 100g of the sugar with the water and boil 8 minutes open to a light syrup. In the meantime beat the egg whites until stiff, let the remaining sugar slowly trickle in.
Add the hot sugar syrup in a thin stream to the stiff egg white with constant stirring and let everything cool down.
Beat the soft butter with the hand mixer briefly and then add it in portions to the egg white, stir and then add the next piece. In between, stir in the liqueur. If the buttercream is still very soft, just continue beating until it has a buttery consistency – done!
